Studio ARTour presents the 2016 Studio ARTour, a FREE self-guided tour featuring 40 artists, 21 studios, demonstrations and a unique opportunity for the public to visit with the artists and see them at work in their creative workspaces. The tour will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 15 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 16; some studios will also be open from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 14.

In its 12th year, the annual Studio ARTour is a fun-filled weekend event that highlights the diverse art scene in South Central Minnesota, including Northfield, Faribault and surrounding area. Every year, dozens of artists participate in the tour attracting hundreds of visitors during its two-day run, answering visitor questions and providing demonstrations of their art-making process. The Studio ARTour features mediums ranging from weaving to welding, glass to gemstones, clay to carvings (with original work available for purchase), and is lauded as a premiere art event in Minnesota and beyond.

“These studio tours are a wonderful way to really get to know the artists, to see their processes, the mediums they use, the personal spaces where they create, and to understand how all of it helps define their art,” says co-chair Judy Saye-Willis.
